Overview
Enjoy the elements on this strenuous hike through the Alaskan rainforest!
Meet your guide for your tour and begin your day with a short 10-minute drive to meet this trailhead.
This small-group tour will embark on a 4-mile roundtrip hike into the wilderness of Southeast Alaska. The first half mile ascends up a gravel service road to the lake where a mountain towers over it and there will be plenty of opportunities for you to enjoy the scenery and even capture that perfect moment with your camera. The second mile is a more natural trail mixed with gravel, large rocks and tree roots as you ascend through an old-growth rainforest filled with Sitka Spruce.
Our destination on this tour is at 1,100 feet of elevation (roughly 600 feet of elevation gain), where you arrive at the bottom of an avalanche chute with views of the mountain top above and distant mountains behind us. Take in the incredible scenery before hiking back for your transportation back to the cruise pier.
