Overview
Your tour starts with a quick safety briefing and tutorial by your professional guide before heading out into the wilderness in one of the most serene places to hike. The Kenai Fjords National Park wilderness offers breathtaking landscapes and wildlife. Your adventure takes you away from the regular trails and pathways and invites you to experience the picturesque backcountry, ancient glacier ice, and stunning vistas completely inaccessible by the everyday traveler.
Your small, cozy group will allow you to get up close and personal with Alaska's wildlife as you explore the Harding Icefield trail. Bears, moose, hoary marmot, mountain goats, and bald eagles are regularly seen.
Beyond the jaw-dropping scenery, your experienced and friendly guide will share stories, local history, and geological features and answer any questions you have throughout the tour. You will cover 8.2 miles of hiking throughout your day, with over 4,000 feet of elevation gain; you will be ready for a satisfying pause to enjoy your deli-style lunch, take it all in, and feel at one with nature. At the end of your tour, you will be dropped off at the train station, ship, or hotel in Seward city so you can continue your journey. There are no transfers to Anchorage included in this tour, but there is a drop-off at Seward train station.
