Overview

Discover the history, culture, and everyday life of Ha Long on this fascinating half-day shore excursion.

You will be met at the port by your guide who will begin your tour with a visit to Bai Tho Mountain (Poem Mountain), an iconic landmark overlooking Ha Long Bay. Famous for its dramatic limestone cliffs, caves, and lush greenery, the mountain is steeped in cultural and historical significance. Take in the beautiful surroundings and enjoy spectacular views of the bay and Ha Long City. Please note that access to the summit may be subject to local regulations and weather conditions.

Descend to the foot of the mountain to visit Long Tien Pagoda, one of the largest and most beautiful Buddhist temples in Ha Long City. Take a peaceful stroll through the shaded grounds, admire the traditional architecture, and learn more about Buddhism and religious traditions in Vietnam.

Continue to the lively Ha Long Market, where you can experience the bustling atmosphere of a traditional local market. Browse stalls filled with fresh seafood, local products, and souvenirs, and perhaps sample a local specialty such as Cha Muc (Ha Long squid paste).

Next, drive through the streets of Ha Long City toward the Quang Ninh Museum. Along the way, observe scenes of everyday Vietnamese life, from local markets and florists creating elaborate floral arrangements to the fascinating activity of motorbike-filled streets. At the museum, explore exhibits showcasing the history, culture, people, and natural heritage of Quang Ninh Province, including the rich biodiversity of the Ha Long Bay region.

Before returning to the cruise port, visit a Ha Long pearl workshop, where you can learn about Vietnam's pearl industry and browse a selection of beautiful pearl products.

Your tour concludes with a comfortable transfer back to the cruise port, allowing you to rejoin your ship with plenty of time.
