The island vibe is welcoming as you board your transport and leave the cruise port behind, expect a discovery tour that gives a taste of history, rainforest and beach time at the many beautiful beaches.
Your drive takes you to Nelson's Dockyard. History here shares England acquired colonial British Antigua and Barbuda in 1632, the English Harbour became a focal point for the establishment of a naval base. Construction of the modern Naval Dockyard began in the 1740s. Among the original buildings are two hotels, a museum, craft and food shops, restaurants, and a large marina.
Arriving at the Shirley Heights Lookout Point, explore historical, partially-restored fortifications of the harbour's colonial observation post. The view is spectacular from atop the hillside at Shirley Heights. See across the turquoise waters of the Caribbean Sea all the way to Montserrat and Guadaloupe. Bring your camera for amazing photos!
Relax and enjoy the natural landscape as you are driven along Fig Tree Rainforest Drive, experience the lush foliage of Antigua's rain forest. Expect to see banana trees, local villages and exotic greenery along the way!
Your final stop is an incredible beach visit, enjoy a stop at one of Antigua's beautiful, white sand beaches. Take a dip in the Caribbean Sea or simply relax in the sun. Antigua is known for its 365 beaches, one for each day of the year.
You will be transferred back to your meeting point near the cruise port at the end of your tour.
