Discover a window into Bonaire’s ancient past at the Indian Inscription site at Boca Onima.
Here, visitors can view mysterious red-stained pictographs etched into a three-foot limestone ledge that resembles a partially formed cave entrance.
These ancient markings are believed to have been created by the Arawak Indians, the island’s earliest inhabitants, and may date back to the 15th century, or even earlier.
Set along Bonaire’s rugged east coast, the site offers breathtaking scenery where powerful waves crash against rocky cliffs.
From this vantage point, visitors can also enjoy sweeping views of the coastline and the nearby wind turbines that play a key role in powering the island today.
