Overview
Due to the unique beauty of their crystal clear water, all the reefs found around the island have been declared National Parks.
Reef Palancar is stellar and the Columbia Reef, just a few miles away, has turtles and mantas floating sporadically by. Scuba divers come from all over the world to dive these reefs and you will find these snorkel stops some of the finest of your life.
The visibility of the azure blue waters is often up to 200 feet so it is easy to drift over the marine life and capture views of tropical fish and coral that you might never see again. What is most amazing will be the size and the formations of these protected waters.
Highly suggested are underwater cameras as there is much to capture in this lovely sea of life.
After plenty of time viewing these magnificent reefs, you will get a chance to see El Cielo, a perfect place to swim and also see the starfish gardens for which it is known.
