Your first stop is the Mayan Cacao Company, where you’ll discover the fascinating history and cultural importance of cacao in ancient Mayan civilization. Your knowledgeable guide will bring the story of cacao to life, explaining how it was used and valued by the Maya and how traditional techniques have been preserved through generations.

Enjoy tastings of delicious artisanal chocolates and watch a traditional Mayan chocolate-making demonstration using a pre-Hispanic metate, an ancient grinding stone used to process cacao. Before leaving, take the opportunity to browse the selection of chocolates and sample a variety of rich and distinctive flavours.

Continue your journey to El Barriecito at La Casa del Tequila, a unique venue dedicated to Mexico’s iconic spirit. Learn about the origins, production and cultural significance of tequila, from the agave plant through to the finished spirit. An expert will guide you through a tequila tasting, introducing you to different flavours and styles while sharing fascinating insights into Mexico’s tequila-making traditions.

After the tasting, visit the store, where you can browse a selection of carefully chosen Mexican products and souvenirs—perfect for taking a taste of Mexico home with you.
