Monkey and Sloth Hangout, Chocolate and Rum Factories and Island Tour

Overview

Departing from the pier on the South Shore of the island in your small group, you will first make your way towards the island's East End.

Sit back and enjoy the tropical views as your guide shares the island's colorful history. In the present day, the island is well known for its coral reef and dive sights but the islands past was home to many Caribbean pirates! You will hear stories of treasures but also the Paya Indians long before it was discovered by Christopher Columbus!

Enjoy driving through several of the small villages that dot the island including Barrio Los Fuertes and French Harbour, the second-largest town on the island. Your tour makes a stop at the Monkey and Sloth hangout where you can indeed hangout with these beautiful animals! The sloths will greet you with their smiling faces and you will enjoy capturing memorable photos at this stop!

There is also time to enjoy some sweet stops with visits to a chocolate and rum cake factory! These are well-known on the island and a perfect way to introduce you to these locally produced treats. You may want to purchase some treats to take home with you!

Your tour also takes you to one of the highest points on the Eastern end of the island for stunning views, a great photo moment!

You will be returned to your cruise port at the end of your tour, with wonderful memories from your time ashore!

Monkey and sloth hangout experience is now a no-contact wildlife sanctuary experience. This important step, in partnership with the Honduran government, ensures ethical interactions and better protection for our wildlife. While touching is no longer allowed, you can still enjoy an incredible learning experience with these amazing animals.
