Overview
Your guide meets you at your cruise port, ready to take you on your half day North island discovery tour.
Depart the cruise port and get to know St. Lucia’s rich history while taking in spectacular elevated views of the north of the island. This tour departs at 9:30 and 12:30 p.m. and begins in the capital city of Castries, driving past the local market and other various points of interest. Moving along up the zigzagging road whilst taking in panoramic views of the harbor, city and even the neighboring island of Martinique on a clear day. The journey continues up to the Morne complex to view Monuments, tombstones and age-old architecture.
A few more minutes’ drive time and you arrive at the first stop; Howelton Estate. This estate has a rich history and features a café, artist studio and retail outlet; Caribelle Batik. At this stop you will witness a Batik demonstration as well as a short presentation on chocolate production, after which you will get the chance to engage in some retail therapy.
The journey continues along secondary roads through the hills and charming rural communities with picturesque views, highlighting the Caribbean and Atlantic Coast. The islands flourishing green landscape creates an ambience of serenity as we descend the mountain ridges to our final stop; Stony Hill.
This private home of the Stony’s sits on 3 acres of well maintained tropical gardens, complete with its own waterfall and orchid nursery and to top all of this, the most striking view of Pigeon Island and Rodney Bay Village. Tasty refreshments and an exhibit of local fruits, handpicked from the gardens await you whilst you relax in the courtyard or next to the pool if that’s your preference.
Restrooms are available before the short journey back to the cruise port.
