Overview
Why limit yourself to just a taste of St. Martin when you can experience the whole thing? Crafted by an experienced guide, this excursion highlights the best stops on the island while providing plenty of time to soak in its natural Caribbean beauty. Your first stop will bring you to where the Dutch and French sides of the island collide, Oyster Pond. With a reef not too far from shore, the opportunities to come across sea urchins are at your fingertips so make sure to bring a camera! A nearby peninsula, Babit Point, makes this an ideal protected harbor and is a favorite home to yachts and sailboats.
It isn't a day in the Caribbean without some time on the beach! Slide into your sandals and flip down your sunglasses while making your way to Orient Bay. The French Side is known for its beaches and many believe Orient Bay is the best on the island. Don't miss out on this chance to sit back, relax, grab a drink and enjoy that fresh Caribbean air.
After getting lost in the horizon and catching some rays, you will head over to Marigot, the French capital of St. Martin. Your free time in Marigot will give you an inside look at life as a local as you browse through a variety of marinas, shops, markets, and open-air restaurants. Even if you don't buy anything, the old creole houses, tropical fruits and local boutiques will undoubtedly capture your attention. And if you are feeling adventurous, you can climb about 100 stairs to see the old Fort Louis.
Back on the Dutch side, we will take you to the world-famous Maho Beach. If you haven't already, find some time to search the endless photos of travelers capturing planes coming into Princess Juliana International Airport. Due to the short runways, airplanes must make their final approach at a low altitude which provides a remarkable vantage point for Maho Beach travelers. Hold onto your camera tight, you have to see it to believe it!
On the way back to Philipsburg, there'll be one last picture opportunity on the Cole Bay Hill so you can see the island layout of the Simpson Bay marina, airport area and the neighboring islands Anguilla, Statia and Saba.
