Embark on an unforgettable off-road adventure through some of Crete’s most breathtaking landscapes, where wild nature, traditional villages, and crystal-clear waters come together in one extraordinary journey.
Our experience begins from Lake Kournas, the only natural freshwater lake on the island. After enjoying the serene scenery, we drive through the charming village of Kournas and follow an exciting off-road route through the lush Agios Ioannis Azilakas Forest, also known as the famous Azilakas Trail. Next, we stop at the enchanting Argyroupoli Springs, where crystal-clear waters flow beneath an ancient plane tree, offering natural shade and refreshing coolness. Time to relax, explore, and capture stunning photos.
Continuing through the impressive Moundros Gorge, we pause at a natural spring, perfect for a short rest and breathtaking photo opportunities. We then head to a traditional village for a genuine Cretan lunch at a local taverna, where warm hospitality and authentic flavors await.
After lunch, we drive through the dramatic Kotsifou Gorge, with panoramic views of the Libyan Sea, before reaching the exotic Preveli Palm Forest and Beach. Here, you’ll have time to enjoy this unique tropical landscape where a river meets the sea, surrounded by palm trees. Access to the beach is via a walking trail; guests who prefer not to walk can enjoy swimming at the nearby stop where our vehicles park.
On our return journey, we stop at the majestic Kourtaliotiko Gorge for approximately 15 minutes, allowing time to admire the dramatic scenery and take photos. Before heading back to the hotel, we make a final stop at the scenic “Three Monasteries” viewpoint, offering a panoramic view over Rethymno, a perfect spot for unforgettable photos. Here, a small surprise awaits you, featuring local Cretan treats, giving you one last taste of authentic Crete.
