Overview

Discover the landscapes, history, and traditional villages surrounding Souda on an exhilarating three-hour buggy adventure through the highlands of Chania. Follow scenic countryside routes, explore historic landmarks, and enjoy spectacular panoramic views across Chania, Souda Bay, and the White Mountains.

Your adventure begins at the local base in Souda, where you’ll meet your experienced guide, complete registration, and receive a full safety briefing. After learning how to operate your automatic buggy, you’ll have the opportunity to complete a short practice drive before setting off.

Once everyone is ready, head into the hills above Souda Bay and experience a varied route combining countryside roads and off-road sections. Travel through charming villages and picturesque landscapes, stopping at elevated viewpoints where you can take in breathtaking views across the bay and surrounding mountains.

The journey continues towards Ancient Aptera, one of western Crete’s most significant archaeological sites. Discover the impressive Ottoman Koules Fortress, dramatically positioned above Souda Bay, and learn about the area's fascinating past. Along the route, your guide will also share stories of the historic Izzeddin Prison and point out the Venetian fortress on Souda Island.

With plenty of opportunities to stop for photographs and admire the scenery, the safari combines adventure with a fascinating insight into Crete’s history and countryside.

After exploring the mountain landscapes, traditional villages, and historic landmarks, enjoy an exciting final drive back to Souda, bringing your unforgettable Chania buggy adventure to an end.
