Overview
Discover the best of Iceland’s Snæfellsnes Peninsula on a convenient and comfortable shore excursion designed specifically for cruise passengers.
Departing directly from the Grundarfjörður cruise terminal, this small-group tour explores the region’s most iconic natural wonders, enhanced by an onboard audioguide filled with stories about local history, culture, and geology.
Your journey begins in Djúpalónssandur, located within Snæfellsjökull National Park. Here you can stroll along the striking black pebble beach, wander among dramatic lava formations, learn about the area’s maritime history, and take in distant views of the Snæfellsjökull glacier.
Continue to the charming coastal village of Arnarstapi, where you’ll have time to walk the scenic cliffside paths, admire unique rock formations, and observe the abundant birdlife. A few small cafés offer the chance to enjoy a light snack or warm drink.
The tour concludes at the legendary Kirkjufell, one of Iceland’s most photographed mountains. Paired with the elegant Kirkjufellsfoss waterfall, this iconic landscape provides a breathtaking setting for unforgettable photos and a peaceful moment in nature.
Traveling in a small bus ensures a more personal experience, and the tour is scheduled to return to port well before your ship’s departure, offering peace of mind and a stress-free day ashore.
