Overview
Your guide meets you at your cruise port, and you will board your transportation. Leaving the cruise port behind, settle in as you drive straight to Dynjandi via the tunnel at the bottom of Dyrafjordur. Emerging at the end of the tunnel at Dynjandisvogur creek of Arnarfjordur.
Your tour introduces you to this majestic waterfall, 7 waterfalls falling together over the cliff will simply take your breath away! You will have around an hour to take it all in, surrounded by the stunning landscape and views as far as you can see. You can even take a short hike to the top tier if you prefer to have a closer look at the top tier.
Learn about Arnarfjordur and the legends of sea monsters, sitting at 30 km long it is an incredible fjord to visit.
From here you journey onwards to visit the wonderful Hrafnseyri farm, steeped in history learn about the birthplace of Jon Sigurdsson, a memorable figure in Icelands history along with other residents such as Hrafn Sveinbjarnason; dating back centuries.
There is a lot to discover as you enjoy the stunning views at Dyrafjordu and the town of Thingeyri. This area known for its origins of the first trading post of the Westfjords. With true Viking roots, you will take in the sweeping views and the geological landscape of the region as you learn about the Icelandic sagas that took place near Haukadalur farmstead.
Further on, there is time to take in the spectacular mountain range that sits between Dyrafjordur and Arnarfjordur, a perfect spot to capture a memorable photo of both fjord and mountain.
During this tour, you may see birds and wildlife, seals frequent the area and occasionally whales are seen! While wildlife is not guaranteed, the incredible views will not disappoint, bring a fully charged camera to take home wonderful memories of your time ashore! You will return to the cruise port at the end of your tour.
