Overview

You will be met at the port of Izmir by your professional guide for the day who will take you to your air conditioned transportation ready to commence this tour.

The scenic drive to Ephesus will take approximately 1 hour 15 minutes from the port of Izmir, during the drive your guide will be able to give you lots of information regarding the area and its history.

The first stop will be at the House of Virgin Mary, here we can visit the Chapel and light candles and even leave a message on the wall! We will spend approximately 45 minutes here before the tour continues.

With so much to take in, any tour of Ephesus is dependent on a good Guide to make sure you get the most out of the experience. On this tour, you'll have the services of a professional Guide; someone who can guide you round the Baths of Scholastica, the Temple of Hadrian, the Biblical and the Grand Theatre - just some of Ephesus' most wonderful buildings.

And on this trip, you'll be paying special attention to the Temple of Artemis.

In Ephesus take a tour of the site of the Temple of Artemis. The Artemesium Temple would have been an amazing structure - one of the original wonders of the world. Close your eyes and you can almost imagine it. Helped by your Guide, you'll get that little bit closer to history.

There's time for lunch on this tour too or just general leisure time to souvenir shop (not included). In fact a 45 minute stop will give you a good chance to sit back and enjoy the experience all the more.

There is also an opportunity to visit a leather shop if there is time on the tour.

Finally, it's back to the cruise port for another night in the fine surroundings of your cruise ship.

Most of the religious communities require ladies to cover their shoulders and knees as a sign of respect when entering religious sites, such as cathedrals and churches.
You will be able to purchase souvenirs and refreshments at the House of Virgin Mary or Ephesus. There are also restrooms available at both sites (there may be a small charge to use the facilities).
