Overview

We will start visiting one of the main highlights in Turkey, Ephesus, one of the 12 cities of Ionian League (an ancient Greek district on the western coast of Asia Minor).

Your guide will walk you through this amazing site and will point out the most historic interests of this breath-taking ancient city, such as: The baths of Scholastica, The Library of Celsus, Grand Theatre, Temple of Hadrian.

At the end of the tour of Ephesus you will be given free time to souvenir shop or to use the restrooms before commencing the tour to St Johns Basilica.

St Johns Basilica is believed to be where the evangelist St John had spent his last years in the region around Ephesus and buried in the southern slope of Ayosolug Hill.

At St Johns Basilica your guide will take you around this small site where you will be able to learn about the history from your guide. During the visit of St Johns there will be plenty of time for photo opportunities with some amazing sights across Ephesus.

After leaving St Johns Basilica the tour will continue to one of the seven wonders of the ancient world, the famous Artemis Temple. Here the tour will stop so there is time for photo opportunities before returning back to the cruise port in plenty of time for your cruise ships departure.

There is a lot of walking involved in this tour please ensure you wear suitable and comfortable footwear. The ground is very uneven at Ephesus there are also steps and inclines (this tour would be unsuitable for those who have walking difficulties)
