Overview

We will begin with visiting one of the main highlights in Turkey, Ephesus, one of the 12 cities of Ionian League (an ancient Greek district on the western coast of Asia Minor). Once we arrive at Ephesus, we will begin our guided tour of this amazing site. Your guide will take you through one of the most magnificent wonders of the Ancient World, giving you commentary about the history, the way of life and stories about their culture.

Walking through history along marble streets lined with wonderful public buildings, such as Memnius Monument, the Trajan Fountain, The Baths of Scholastica, Hadrian Temple, Latrines, Celsus Library, the gate of Mihridates and Mazues, Commercial Agora and The Grand Theatre. The Grand theatre was built in 3rd century B.C and it was later expanded to 24.000 spectators by the Romans in the 1st century A.D.

Once we have visited Ephesus there will be time to visit the restrooms, souvenir shop or take a quick coffee at one of the many cafeterias before commencing with the tour.

The next stop will be at the Artemis Temple, this used to be one of the seven wonders of the ancient world.

At the end of the tour you will be returned back to Izmir cruise port in plenty of time for your cruise ships departure.

The ground is very uneven at Ephesus there are also steps and inclines (this tour would be unsuitable for those who have walking difficulties)
