Overview
Upon arrival at the cruise port, your Venture Ashore representative will be waiting to greet you and escort you to your private transport.
Your tour begins with a journey to Valletta, Malta’s capital city, where you’ll enjoy a guided walk through its lively streets. Built after the Great Siege of 1565 and named for Grand Master Jean Parisot de la Valletta, this remarkable city is steeped in history and charm.
The first stop is the Barrakka Gardens, perched high on the bastion ramparts and offering breathtaking panoramic views of the Grand Harbor and the Three Cities. From there, continue to St. John’s Cathedral, once the conventual church of the Order of St. John. With its magnificent Baroque architecture, elaborate Grand Masters’ monuments, and precious works of art—including a Caravaggio masterpiece—the cathedral is truly unforgettable.
Your walking tour then takes you to the exterior of the Grand Masters Palace, once the official residence of the Grand Master of the Order and today the splendid residence of the President of Malta.
After exploring Valletta, the tour continues south to the historic area known as the Three Cities. Passing through Cospicua, you’ll arrive in Vittoriosa, where narrow streets lined with historic buildings and churches invite you to stroll and explore. From the old quay, you may choose to board a traditional fregatina boat for a tour of the famous harbor creeks (subject to weather conditions & to be paid on the day).
Admire the sight of super yachts along the quay before concluding your day with a smooth return to the cruise port, well ahead of your ship’s departure.

Please note:
Churches and cathedrals are closed to tourists on Saturday afternoons and Sundays. Therefore the order of itineraries may change according to the days of the week selecting. The Cathedrals are also closed on Mondays and Thursday. The order of the site visits can be changed at the discretion of the guide and subject to entrance timings.
All Heritage Malta Sites (most museums and sites) are closed on the following days: 24,25 and 31 December, 1 January and Good Friday.
