Overview

Discover the timeless beauty of Dalmatia on a captivating journey through the historic towns of Split and Trogir, two of Croatia’s most treasured cultural destinations. Situated on a picturesque peninsula and surrounded by ancient settlements, Split offers a remarkable blend of Roman heritage, medieval architecture, and vibrant Mediterranean atmosphere.
You will be met at the cruise port and your guide will commence your exploration taking you to the heart of the city with a guided walk through the magnificent 4th-century Diocletian’s Palace, one of the best-preserved Roman monuments in the world and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Wander through its ancient Cellars, admire the impressive Peristyle courtyard, and visit the Roman temples that were later transformed into Christian landmarks, including the Cathedral of Saint Domnius and the Baptistery.

The tour continues to the iconic Golden Gate, once the grand northern entrance to the imperial palace. After the guided sightseeing tour, enjoy some free time to stroll through the charming stone streets, relax at a café along the waterfront promenade, or explore the local shops and hidden corners of the old town at your own pace.

The journey then continues by bus to the enchanting town of Trogir, another UNESCO-protected gem steeped in history and tradition. Originating from the ancient Greek settlement of Tragurion, Trogir is a living museum filled with narrow cobblestone streets, elegant palaces, churches, and medieval fortifications that reflect centuries of cultural influence. During the guided tour, admire the stunning Cathedral of Saint Lawrence with its world-famous portal created by the renowned local master Radovan, a masterpiece of Romanesque sculpture. Explore the historic City Loggia dating back to the 15th century, the noble Cipiko Palace, the Town Hall, and the Benedictine monastery founded in 1064, home to the celebrated Greek relief of Kairos, the God of the Auspicious Moment.

After sightseeing, enjoy free time to soak in the authentic Mediterranean atmosphere, discover local cafés and boutiques, or simply admire the beauty of this remarkable coastal town before returning back to the cruise port in plenty of time for your cruise ships departure.
