Overview
You will be met at the entrance gate of Phu my port by your driver and guide. Enjoy a private air conditioned transfer of approximately 45 minutes, as you make your way into the exciting city of Vung Tau.
Arrive in Vung Tau and visit the Whale Temple, where you will learn about the local worship of the “Whale” a deeply rooted spiritual and cultural tradition that expresses gratitude to the deity believed to protect and save fishermen from the dangers of the open sea. The practice reflects the traditional fishing culture and maritime way of life in Vung Tau.
After the visit to the Temple, the tour will continue with a leisurely 1 km walk through the local streets to the market, stopping along the way to sample local specialties such as Banh Khot and experience the authentic daily lifestyle of the local community.
Next the tour will explore the local wet market and taste some seasonal fruits, whilst the guide gives information about the traders, the culture and also the produce.
Now it is time for lunch, the tour will go by car, to transfer to the restaurant for light lunch, here you will be able to sample the local Banh Mi, which is the delicious local bread.
After lunch, the tour will continue to the 'White Palace' with a stop en route at the central square for photos at Thang Tam Tower, a new city landmark renowned for its striking architecture. Visit the White Palace, a historic colonial-era landmark set on a scenic hillside overlooking the sea. Explore the elegant architecture and surrounding grounds, and enjoy panoramic views of Vung Tau’s coastline from the palace courtyard, where the elevated setting offers a beautiful perspective of the city and the ocean.
We will then enjoy a relaxing cup of Vietnamese coffee at a charming seaside café, where you can unwind and take in the refreshing sea breeze and beautiful coastal views. Afterwards, return to the cruise port in plenty of time for your cruise ships departure.
