Overview
Discover one of Shimizu’s most iconic landscapes on this four-hour small-group shore excursion, created especially for cruise guests. Meet your English-speaking local guide at Shimizu Port and set out by foot and public transportation to experience the area’s natural beauty, history, and the true local culture.
Your journey begins at Miho no Matsubara, part of the UNESCO World Heritage cultural property associated with Mt. Fuji. Follow the historic, pine-lined Kami-no-Michi to Miho Shrine, where your guide will share the story of the legendary Hagoromo tale and introduce you to Shinto traditions and Japan’s deep connection with nature.
Spend time exploring the peaceful pine forest and coastline of Miho no Matsubara. On clear days, you may be rewarded with spectacular views of Mt. Fuji, and your guide will be happy to help you capture memorable photos along the way.
Continue to the Miho Shirube cultural center, where you’ll discover more about the history of Miho, the cultural significance of Mt. Fuji, and the enduring Hagoromo legend.
The tour then returns toward Shimizu, ending at S-Pulse Dream Plaza. Here, your guide can introduce you to local dining options and point you toward Shimizu’s renowned tuna and seafood specialties. Meals are not included, giving you the freedom to choose and enjoy whatever appeals to you.
