Overview
Located on the west coast of Norway, Bergen has been for almost one thousand years the destination of travelers from all around the world and is Norway’s second-largest city, with over 250.000 inhabitants, and is estimated to have been founded in 1070.
Hop-on our double-decker buses to see the highlights of this beautiful city and hop off at some of the most popular attractions, which include the Funicular, Aquarium, the Hanseatic Museum, and, as the birthplace of the hugely popular composer Edward Grieg, the Edward Grieg Museum which receives thousands of visitors from all over the World.
Even the local Tourist Information Centre is an attraction in its own right- housed in The old Bergen Exchange, built in 1862 and containing the famous Fresco Hall with murals painted by Axel Revoid that have been long recognized sed as a national treasure.
Visit the famous UNESCO World Heritage site 'Bryggen', the Wharf. Bryggen has been on the UNESCO list for world cultural heritage since 1979. Here you will observe the medieval wooden buildings in the Hanseatic Quarter, the impressive 12th century St Mary's Church, and the museums on the premises.
Next to Bryggen you will see the Bergenhaus Fortress area with the 12th-century royal stone hall, Haakon's Hall, and the renaissance Rosenkrantz Tower.
The castle to the Bergenhaus Fortress is one of the oldest fortifications in Norway with the Rosenkrantz Tower was once home to King Eric Magnusson with relics and views of the city and harbor,
Why not see the funicular station which sits at the foot of Mount Floyen in the centre of the city. The cable car can take you up the see the heights of Bergen and offers amazing views. Also within the city, we will see the theatre, the Art gallery, the fish and flower market and the main concert hall named after the composer Edvard Grieg.
