Your adventure begins with an extended visit to Glendalough, one of Ireland’s most atmospheric monastic sites. Your local guide will bring the history, legends, and remarkable ruins to life during a 30-minute guided walk of the Monastic City. Afterwards, enjoy 90 minutes of free time to explore at your own pace. Wander between the Upper and Lower Lakes, photograph the dramatic glacial valley, or simply soak in the peaceful stillness that has drawn visitors here for centuries.
Next, we stop in the nearby village of Laragh for a relaxed lunch break (own expense). Choose from traditional Irish pub favourites or fresh deli options—ideal for refuelling before we venture deeper into the mountains.
After lunch, the tour climbs into the rugged beauty of the Sally Gap, revealing rolling heather fields, sweeping boglands, and cinematic landscapes featured in Braveheart, P.S. I Love You, and Vikings. The highlight of the afternoon is a generous stop at Lough Tay (Guinness Lake), one of Ireland’s most iconic viewpoints. Here, you’ll have extra time to take in the scenery while enjoying a complimentary toast of Glendalough Whiskey, celebrating the spirit of the valley.
Our return journey winds through the peaceful Glencree Valley, a tranquil and lesser-visited corner of Wicklow, providing a calm and scenic finale before we return you to Dun Laoghaire in plenty of time for your tender.
