Overview

There is a maximum of 8 guests per 4 x 4 car, so please reserve this tour as early as possible due to limited availability.

You will meet your driver guide at the port of Funchal, who will lead you to your 4 x 4 vehicle ready to commence your adventure of the North West of the Island.

The tour will commence to Serra d’Água which is one of the most beautiful places on the island, from here we can see the South Coast, Encumeada, Ribeira Brava and Campanário. Stopping at São Vicente, home to an extensive area of laurel forest, we will have the opportunity to see and walk in the stunning levadas rich in fauna and flora.

Continue your journey towards the mountains of the Ribeira Brava, and then cross to the North of Madeira, discovering small hidden villages. We ascend to the only plateau on the Island, Paúl da Serra, about 1500 meters above sea level, passing through the fanal forest famous for their luarel trees.

Next stop is Porto Moniz where it's time for a lunch break and where you will have the opportunity to swim in the natural pools formed by volcanic lava and filled with crystal-clear sea water. These natural pools are the highlight of the village and not to be missed!

From Porto Moniz drive past the villages of Seixal with stunning landscapes, waterfalls and volcanic pools heading back towards São Vicente where you'll make the last stop to try "Poncha". This is a traditional local alcoholic drink made with alcohol distilled from sugar cane juice, honey, sugar, and either orange or lemon juice.

At the end of the day, your tour will finish back at the cruise port of Funchal, with plenty of time for your cruise ships departure.
