Overview
Board your comfortable bus at the cruise gate and settle in for your journey. Leaving the port behind, you will enjoy the scenic views alongside the Nordfjordeid, and travel over a spectacular mountain pass.
On arrival at Selje your crew are ready to welcome you, as you step onboard your boat. Sailing towards the island, fondly known as the Holy Isle you can see the beautiful views of the archipelago surrounds, and incredible cliff views as you approach the north side of the island.
Taking in the Stadt Peninsula towards the Western Cape, your crew will point out the village of Drage, along with their Viking tales. Keep your eyes peeled, you may be lucky to see sea eagles!
Arriving at the island of Selja, you will immediately feel it's historic presence and your local guide will share stories of the legend of St. Sunniva and the Selja Monastery.
What an experience to walk the same paths as the benedict monks did 100's of years ago and climb the stairways to the top of the tower!
You really can follow the footsteps of St. Sunniva to the holy Sunnivacave and just take in the unique atmosphere of the Selja monastery. Perhaps even taste the healing water from the Sunniva source!
Once you return to the harbour, you will have some free time to explore Selje, discover the town center, and beach. You will board your bus for your return trip back to your cruise port.
