Overview
Spend the morning walking through Palermo's historic street markets, sharing our everyday city life.
Your host introduces you to the rhythm of the markets, starting at the Vucciria, iconic and full of contrasts, the ideal place to understand this square's transformation and
cultural weight.
Continue to Ballaro, with its explosion of colours, voices and irresistible street food, an intense immersion into the multicultural identity of Palermo, and into the Albergheria, where the market becomes spontaneous and raw, spilling into the alleys. Then the Capo, the market of everyday Palermo, where locals still do their daily shopping.
Midway, make a small detour to what many locals consider the best pastry shop in Palermo, far from the tourist routes, and taste the chocolate cake or cannolo that might well become the highlight of the day.
On Sundays the walk follows a slightly different version, it includes the antique and vintage markets of Piazza Marina and Corso Alberto Amedeo.
The itinerary changes from week to week, following what the city naturally offers.
