A short walk from our cruise pier, you will meet your driver guide and your small group.
Leaving the port behind, begin your journey with a drive up the mountain Serra de Água de Pau, locally known as Pico da Barrosa. Here you will enjoy the forever views at the Lagoa do Fogo viewpoint.
Take in the landscape with views across the volcano’s crater, and the bright blue lake below, this really is an unforgettable view! A fully charged camera is a must for this tour!
From here you descend the mountain, ready for the tour highlight -Caldeira Velha - a beautiful site hidden within the forest. If you choose too, you can enjoy bathing in this natural pool, perfectly warm due to Fogos volcanic geothermal activity. Just like a warm bath, surrounded by nature and the waterfall - what an experience!
As you journey the island you will learn all about the origins of the São Miguel’s volcano and what make the area so special.
At the end of your incredible tour you will return you to Portas do Mar at the end of your tour in time for your ships departure.
