Overview
You will be met at the cruise port, ready for a tour to discover the ancient city.
Settle into your comfortable transport, leaving the port behind, the journey to Edinburgh takes around 30-40 minutes depending on which port your cruise ship has ported in.
Taking in the Scottish charm your first stop is the Royal Yacht Britannia at the Port of Leith (tickets are not included). Step onboard and you will soon discover why this yacht was a Royal favorite, and learn all about its worldly voyages it sailed and see the amenities enjoyed by the Queen and Prince Philip and other Royals.
From here you will board your transport and enjoy a panoramic tour in the center of Edinburgh, take in views of the historic old town, expect cobbled streets, views at Arthurs seat and beyond before arriving at the Royal Mile - the citys ancient street leading to the Castle.
At the top of the mile sits the majestic Edinburgh Castle, you will appreciate the views across the city as the Castle sits on top of this volcanic rock known as Castle Rock.
You will have time to enjoy touring the Castle (tickets are not included) and step back in time as you take it all in. Explore and discover the Castles military and royal past, there is a lot to see and sure to be a tour highlight!
Following a tour of the Castle, you have free time to enjoy a refreshment and explore Castlehill. Comfortable shoes are a must as you walk over the cobbled streets and take in the surroundings of the citys oldest street.
Discover ancient alleys and Scottish closes that trail off the Royal Mile, making this area unique, combined with the bustling atmosphere, you may even hear bagpipes play in the many souvenir shops nearby! St.Giles Cathedral is a popular place to see or capture a memorable photo.
From here, you will enjoy a photo stop at the Royal residence - Holyrood Palace. This beautiful and ancient Palace sits at the opposite end of the Castle, and is the official residence of the British Monarch.
A perfect end to your tour before boarding your transport to take in the final views of the city and return to your cruise port.
