Overview
Enjoy an unforgettable experience that combines nature, wildlife, history, and culture as you discover some of the remarkable landscapes and communities surrounding Mazatlán.
Begin with a scenic boat ride through the peaceful mangrove channels near Stone Island, a beautiful natural ecosystem filled with lush vegetation and wildlife. As you cruise through the waterways, keep an eye out for a variety of bird species, including herons and ospreys, as well as other animals native to the area. With a little luck, you may even spot a crocodile in its natural habitat.
The adventure continues in Villa Unión, a community rich in history and local traditions. Explore its colourful public market and visit the historic Church of Saint John the Baptist, while learning about the town’s heritage and the important role it has played in the region.
Discover another fascinating part of Villa Unión’s history with a visit to the former textile mill. You’ll also have the opportunity to meet local artisans and see traditional brickmaking in action at a workshop where each brick is still carefully made by hand using time-honoured techniques.
This experience is ideal for travellers looking to go beyond Mazatlán’s beaches and discover the region’s natural beauty, wildlife, history, and authentic local traditions.
