Chilkat Jet Boat Adventure and Raptor Expedition

Overview

The farther you get away from the crowds, the better chance you will have of seeing some of that famous Alaskan Wildlife. Whats the best way to do this? How about starting your tour with a beautiful glacial fjord ferry ride through the Chilkoot Inlet to Haines, known as Alaskas Adventure Capital?

Upon arrival in Haines, you will enjoy a scenic drive to the Jet Boat facility where they have all the amenities for your comfort.

The adventure part of your tour is next. Your friendly local guide/naturalist and certified Captain will assist you for your jet boat journey through a small portion of the Chilkat Bald Eagle Preserve on a powerful, yet quiet and uncovered boat for the best views of wildlife, scenery, and amazing photo opportunities. Moose are often the highlight of the tour, along with bald eagles and their massive nests dotting the river banks. Your Captain will stop the boat when water depths allow, so you can capture an Alaskan photo for the ages!

After the boat ride, you'll board the bus for the scenic drive back to Haines, during which a boxed lunch will be provided for your enjoyment.

Then, a stop will be made at the American Bald Eagle Foundation, a must-visit while in Haines. Live Raptors are available for viewing plus a great display of all the wildlife that inhabits the Chilkat Valley. Don't forget the gift shop for that perfect souvenir to remember your trip to Haines.

Finally, you'll return to the pier for the ferry ride back to Skagway.
