Overview

Truly a highlight of your vacation, lift off from the historic Skagway waterfront and experience the infinite beauty of Alaska’s remote glaciers. After a brief safety overview, you will take off in a helicopter and view the gorgeous scenery from above. The routes of the flights are selected daily to ensure you have the best tour possible. The Chilkat Glacier, cascading waterfalls, and the "river of ice" known as the Meade Glacier may be among the wonders you encounter during your flight.

Your helicopter will land on or at the base of a glacier and you will be met by your experienced guide, who will take you on a 40-minute introduction and exploration of this craggy mass of ice.

This is a true Alaskan adventure that you will take home with you.

This experience includes approximately 40 minutes of helicopter time and 40 minutes on the glacier.
Times may vary due to weather and glacier conditions.
Dress warmly in layers of clothing. Bring your camera, sunglasses, gloves, and hat. Overboots will be provided as needed.
Due to weight and balance limitations, as well as guest safety and comfort, passengers weighing 250 pounds (113kg or 18 Stone) or more will need to purchase and pre-reserve adequate space onboard the helicopter. Total weight includes shoes and clothing. This option is presented during check-out.
Please note that bags of any kind, iPads or tablets, tripods, selfie sticks or other extendible items, drones, water bottles are not allowed on the tour. There are lockers at the base where you may leave such items, although we suggest leaving these items at home.
Please note, the steps that guests must navigate while getting in and out of the aircraft are approximately 18” in height. You must be able to walk from the office to the helipad without use of a wheelchair, walker, cane, or any other assistance.
The natural surface of the glacier can be uneven and cracked. This is not suitable for people that are not sure footed.
Due to liability reasons, we cannot lift guests in or out of the helicopter. You must be able to enter and exit the helicopter on your own with out assistance from another person or device.
Helicopter seating is based on the weight, balance and safety for the entire flight.
Departure time will be assigned upon confirmation based on your cruise ship's itinerary. During check out we will ask if you have any other activities booked while in port.
The distance to the meeting location varies depending on where your ship docks. At most it will be a 30-minute walk, though you may take the city shuttle bus which costs $3. More information will be provided upon tour confirmation.
Children ages 2 and under are allowed on this tour as lap children and are free of charge. A parent or guardian will be responsible for holding the child securely for the entire tour.
