Overview
Your guide welcomes you at the cruise port. You will board your private transport and start with a relaxing 30-40 minute drive that brings you to Rapallo from where you take a brief drive along the ‘Golden Sun Road’ towards the sophisticated resort town of Santa Margherita. A short 10-minute cruise to Portofino gives you the opportunity to view the stunning little inlets, secluded beaches, and beautiful tree-covered hillsides.
As you enter the Bay of Portofino – once a small fishing village and now a sophisticated international tourist destination – admire the charming colored houses overlooking the square and small port. After a short sightseeing tour (on foot) you have time to explore by yourselves the quaint streets, charming shops, or maybe just ‘people watch’ whilst sitting and relaxing in one of the many pavements cafes and bars. Have your camera ready, to capture your Portofino memorable moments!
You return by boat to Santa Margherita where your coach is waiting to take you on your return journey to Genoa in plenty of time to rejoin your ship. This tour is subject to suitable sea conditions. In the event conditions on the day do not permit you to reach Portofino by boat, you will travel by public bus (with your guide) to Portofino.
Due to the transfers by boat this tour is not suitable for those guests in wheelchairs. During your tour, you will have an opportunity to visit a number of religious sites, in which case, should you wish to enter you will need to ensure your shoulders and knees are covered. Your tour sequence of visits on occasion may change, to reduce overcrowding or where certain sites close early; to ensure you experience the best day ashore!
