Overview
Grenada is known on the world Spice Market for its productions of nutmeg and its byproduct, mace. It is also a major producer of cinnamon, cocoa, and many other spices with their delicious smells wafting through the air.
Enjoy the breathtaking views of the old capital, St. George's, and the winding route which takes us deep in Grenada's lush interior to the Grand Etang Forest Reserve and volcanic crater lake. Close to the lake is the visitor center and rest rooms. Keep an eye out and, if you're lucky, you may spot a mona monkey, which live in this wild rainforest region.
Our drive continues through spice plantations, including the Belvedere Estate owned by famous French planter and revolutionary Julien Fedon.
Driving past the fishing village of Gouyave, we continue to Victoria to visit the Nutmeg Museum and Jouvay Chocolate factory. Here you have the opportunity to purchase fresh spices and delicious dark chocolate.
Our tour continues along the scenic west coast with our last stop being a visit to Concorde Waterfall, before heading back to St. George's to end at the cruise terminal.
