Overview

Experience the magic of Bodrum in just a few hours on this fantastic half-day guided tour through one of Turkey’s most historic and scenic coastal towns. Known in antiquity as Halicarnassus, Bodrum is rich in archaeological treasures, ancient wonders, and stunning landscapes. Whether you're a history enthusiast, archaeology lover, or simply here for the views, this tour offers something for everyone.

Tour Highlights:

Bodrum Castle (Castle of St. Peter):
Perched on a rocky peninsula overlooking the harbor, this 15th-century Crusader castle was built by the Knights of St. John. Explore its five imposing towers and seven gates, including the English, German, and French towers, the dungeon, and the secret museum inside the Snake Tower.

Museum of Underwater Archaeology:
Housed within the castle, this world-renowned museum features artifacts from some of the oldest shipwrecks ever discovered, including the Uluburun Shipwreck. Explore the Glass Wreck Hall, Late Bronze Age relics, and the Carian Princess exhibit, showcasing ancient jewelry, coins, and amphorae once used to transport olive oil and wine.

The Mausoleum of Mausolus:
Visit the ruins of one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, built in 355 BC by Artemisia for her brother and husband, King Mausolus. Though damaged by earthquakes and time, the site still holds powerful echoes of its past glory. Some of the original materials were later reused to construct the Bodrum Castle.

Bodrum Windmills:
Located on the hills between Bodrum and Gumbet, these 18th-century stone windmills once harnessed the Aegean winds. Though no longer in use, they remain a favorite photo stop offering panoramic views of the coast.

Myndos Gate:
Explore the only surviving gate of ancient Halicarnassus, part of the 7-kilometer-long defensive walls built by King Mausolus in the 4th century BC. Imagine the city's grandeur as you stand before this historic entrance.

Ancient Theatre of Halicarnassus:
This well-preserved 4th-century BC amphitheater once held 5,000 spectators and is one of the oldest stone theaters in Anatolia. Take in the views and imagine the performances that once brought the city to life.

Free Time for Shopping:
Enjoy a short break for souvenir shopping or a relaxing coffee before returning to your ship or hotel.
