Your guide will meet you at the cruise port ready to commence your tour.
Departing from Civitavecchia you will embark on a scenic drive through the beautifully tendered farmland, countryside this Maremma area has to offer. See a completely different side to the hustle and bustle of a Rome tour.
The first stop will be at Tarquinia (formerly known as Corneto), this city holds so much history and home to the Santa Maria Di Castello church and also the Tarqunia Cathedral. Here we will have time for a little sightseeing and photo opportunities before continuing our tour to Tuscania.
Tuscania was an Etruscan town, previously known as Toscanella. On reaching this town, if you wish to visit the Church of St Peter in Tuscania the tour duration may be extended to 4 and a half hours. This is a remarkable example of Romanesque art of the 12th - 13th century, the crypt of this church is also famous for many film locations.
After your short break for leisure time you will continue on to Lake Bolsena, the largest volcanic lake in Europe. Many photo opportunities to be had here! Moving on to Marta, a quaint fishermans village, you will have plenty of free time to take photographs and take in the beautiful scenery before heading back to the port of Civitavecchia.
The Church of St Peter is closed on Mondays.
At the end of the tour, you will be taken back to Civitavecchia cruise port.
