You will be met at the cruise port of Istanbul by your guide.
From here we make our way on the short journey from the cruise port into the heart of this vibrant city, Istanbul. Its Old City reflects the cultural influences of the many empires that once ruled here.
Venture into Turkish history and surround yourself with the many adventures Istanbul has to offer. The first stop will be at Hippodrome Square. Also known as Sultanahmet Square, it was the sporting and social center of Constantinople, the capital of the Byzantine Empire. The Hippodrome Square used to host the many chariot races in years gone by and is also famous for the riots during the Roman Byzantine period.
With just a 2 minutes walk from the square, we will then reach the Blue Mosque. Sometimes known as the Sultanahmet Mosque, it commands the Istanbul Skyline and is famous for its beautiful blue Iznik tiles.
Constructed between 1609 and 1616 during the rule of Ahmed, it is a most impressive structure that cannot be missed!
We continue the tour by walking to Topkapi Palace, not only the residence of the Ottoman sultans but also the administrative and educational center of the state. Constructed between 1460 and 1478 by Sultan Mehmed II, the Conqueror of Constantinople, the palace hosts treasuries, Chinese porcelain, and also a collection of weaponry.
At the end of the tour, you will be taken back to Istanbul Port in time for your ships departure.
