Overview

You will leave from the port of Salerno and reach either the archaeological sites of Pompeii or Herculaneum, which hold the famous ruins of the lost cities buried by the ash of Mount Vesuvius when it erupted in 79 AD.

Once you discovered everything about these fascinating sites, take a panoramic view over the Chiunzi Mountains on the way to Ravello.

Ravello is a town situated on one of the highest points of the Amalfi coast, founded in the 5th century and used as a shelter from the Romans against the barbarian invasions. From there you'll have exceptional views over the coast richly decorated with villas and gardens. A true joy for your eyes.

After some free time you'll leave to reach your final destination, Amalfi.

Amalfi is a city rich in history and power, it became a maritime superpower in Italy together with Pisa, Venice and Genoa, the so-called Repubbliche Marinare (The Maritime Republics) which regulated sea trading and commerce. Now the city is a main tourist attraction with its sun-filled piazzas where you can find plenty of restaurants, souvenir and liqueur shops (you don't want to leave Amalfi without tasting some Limoncello, a lemon-based digestive). Overlooking the main square of Amalfi, you can see the beautiful Romanesque Basilica dedicated to the Saint Apostle Andrew.

At the end of the tour, you will be taken back to Naples on a final relaxing scenic drive through Via Agerola where you can comfortably have a last glance at the stunning coast seen from above.

    - • End of the visit and depart to Ravello
      - • Free time in Ravello (1 hour)
        • Pick up and drive to Amalfi
        • Free time to discover Amalfi (approximately 1 hour)

        Your choice of Pompeii or Herculaneum site to visit, has to be made while making your reservation. This is arranged in advance, not on the day of your tour. If you are arriving on a Wednesday, Herculaneum will be closed.

Special Instructions

On the 1st of May, Labor day, Pompeii and Herculaneum is closed. Guests will have an extended tour of Naples and see Castel dell'Ovo.
Your preferred choice of Pompeii or Herculaneum site to visit, has to be made while making your reservation - not on the day.
Not recommended for guests with mobility difficulties.
Herculaneum is closed on a Wednesday.
Wheelchairs cannot be allowed on this excursion, as the sites are wheelchair inaccessible.
Comfortable walking shoes are recommended as this tour involves walking on uneven ground.
Bring your sunglasses, sunscreen, sunhat and water bottle.
