Overview

You will be met at the port of Salerno by your Venture Ashore representative.

Driving to Pompeii, sit back and enjoy the fabulous views of the city of Mount Vesuvius and the beautiful island of Capri. Pompeii was totally destroyed by Vesuvius eruption in 79AD, which killed all 20,000 inhabitants of the city. During the 1860s, the site was very carefully excavated, and today visitors can wander the streets, visit the shops and even enter homes left exactly as they were minutes before the disaster.

Experience the immense history of such fascinating sites such as The Forum, the Thermal Bath, the private homes and possibly the infamous Lupanare brothel!

Comfortable walking shoes are recommended as this tour involves walking on uneven ground, including the negotiation of large slabs on the streets of Pompeii, it is not recommended for guests with mobility difficulties or wheelchair users.

Relax and start your scenic drive towards Positano, be enchanted by the stunning views of the coastline with villages terraced into hillsides, luxurious gardens, and villas. Positano is situated in a panoramic position on one of the most marvelous stretches of the Amalfi Coast. You will have free time to enjoy the lively town center where you can find the stunning church of Santa Maria Assunta.

You will leave then for the next town on another fantastic journey on the coastline towards Amalfi.

Once being a vital trader and maritime superpower in Italy, Amalfi is now a popular tourist attraction full of charm and culture. You'll witness the magnificent Romanesque Basilica of St. Andrew Apostle guarding the main square of the town, which you can visit for a small charge per person and admire the wonderful cloister and the crypt where the saint's reliquary is conserved. Experience the town in every aspect by walking around for some more shopping or relax by walking down the small beach of the town whilst enjoying some Italian gelato!

At the end of the tour, you will be returned back to the port with plenty of time before your ship's departure, glancing one last time at the mesmerizing sceneries which you will keep as memories that will last a lifetime.
