Overview
The tour will commence with a scenic drive to view the famous Bandama Crater. Once we have reached the viewing point the views of the crater are incredible. The crater is part of the Tafira protected landscape, which is said to be over 4000 years old. Not only will you be able to see this famous landmark but we also get a beautiful view of the North and the South of the island. There are also views of the first golf course in Spain, placed very close to the crater.
From the crater, we continue down the twist and turns of the road to travel to the Canarian town of Arucas. On route, you will see vast banana plantations scattered across the landscape.
On arrival into Arucas, you cannot miss the amazing church which is situated in the center of the town, in the design of a Cathedral and looking very much like a smaller version of the Sagrada Familia. You will be able to visit the San Juan Bautista church which is built in bluestone, should it be open on the day.
Free time will be given in Arucas for shopping, sightseeing or just enjoying a coffee in one of the many cafes situated in the town.
We continue to the town of Teror, a picturesque town located in the North of Gran Canaria, famous for its Basilica and the flowering balconies featured throughout the town.
There will be a short walking tour of the town, then you will have some free time to visit the many market stalls, the quaint boutique shops or sample the local cuisine.
The final visit will be to the Botanical Gardens also located in the North of the island (if time permits). Here you can take it the nature, fauna and flora this park has to offer. A place to relax before your short journey back to your cruise ship.
