Private Ba Ria Caves and Tunnel With English Speaking Guide

Overview

The tour will commence from the port of Phu My, from here we will drive about 45 minutes along a countryside road, passing through the many rice fields and small villages on the road to Long Phuoc tunnels.

We will have an opportunity of also visiting the small museum, where the guide will give some background information about local life and Vietnam war/history period 1945-1975. Continuing and at your choice, you can take a walk inside the tunnels that lead to a life-sized hospital room, bunkers, kitchen and bedrooms, experiencing the Ba Ria caves and tunnels.

The tour will then continue to drive to the nearby village of Dat Do to visit the Vo Thi Sau shrine - a teenage Vietnam heroine who is famous for her exploits against the French. The guide on hand will be giving the full history about this. There is also an option to visit the Monkey pagoda with hundreds gentle monkeys and learn about Buddhism in Vietnam.

Continuing the drive up the beautiful Long Hai Mountains to the historic Minh Dam Secret Zone. Deep in history and beauty, which will lead you to the various mountaintops, experiencing the view as far as Vung Tau City and the fascinating caves. There are also plenty of shrines, pagodas and friendly monks as well as an interesting museum in the area. Its very easy to imagine yourself back during the Vietnam (American) War time when you stroll through the bush in and around the site.

Next it is time for a Vietnamese lunch in a Buddhist rest-stop, which overlooks historic sites and a lotus lake and takes in a rest in peaceful atmosphere before driving along the beautiful coast line and rice paddies. All along the journey, your guide will be giving commentary, about the history and culture.

Finally it is time to return back to the port to meet your cruise ship.
