From Royalty to Ruins – Monaco, Eze and La Turbie

Overview

This tour begins with a scenic drive to the traditional medieval village of Eze. Here you can enjoy the atmosphere which is steeped in history and has a sense of timelessness about it. With stunning views across the French Riviera, this is a wonderful start to your Monaco tour. A unique village which stands above Monaco, here you can walk the narrow cobbled streets, perhaps take a coffee or just shop at the many souvenir shops and stalls scattered around the village. Eze is quite strenuous, it is a steep walk uphill (no transportation can get to this village) cobbled stones, and steps.

From Eze, the next stop is Fragonard which is a perfume factory located at the foot of the village. This is an interesting stop and has plenty of delightful aromas to savor too! Not to mention, souvenirs and a fabulous choice of local perfumes.

From Fragonard, we then drive through the pretty village of La Turbie with its well-known Trophy of the Alps before reaching the glitz and glamor of Monte Carlo, boasting the famous casino and the many designer shops! Here we will stop to have free time to explore before continuing on to the luxurious principality of Monaco.

As we arrive in Monaco, the views are simply stunning. First, we will make our way to the lavish Prince Palace with its grand architecture. We'll arrive just in time to watch the changing of the guards which takes place at precisely 11.55 am and is the highlight of the Monaco tour. And there's still plenty more to enjoy before the tour finishes (we can view the changing on the guards depending on timings, this is not always available).

You'll have the opportunity to see the wonderful Monaco Cathedral a definite photo opportunity. For a chance to relax and enjoy the lush greenery, we'll make a stop at the Monaco gardens too. And last (but not least) the Monaco tour would not be complete without a visit to the world-class Grand Prix circuit.

At the end of the tour, you will be taken back to the port in plenty of time for your cruise ships departure.

Please note: This is a private tour, so the order of the itinerary can be amended by you, please speak to your driver on the day.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

During the Grand Prix and Historical Grand Prix (which happens in May) it will not be possible to do the itinerary of the tour. In these cases, we will change the tour to St Paul de Vence, Cannes & Antibes.
