Overview
This tour begins with a 60-minute drive along the beautiful Mediterranean highway that connects Valencia with Andalucia.
Lorca is probably the most important tourist centre in the region. It has mountains to a height of 1,500 m in the northwest and an 8 km coastline in the coastal area. The surrounding area is covered with vineyards. Lorca Castle is of Arabic origin and dominates the whole city.
You will visit the historical city centre, and, although each of the city centers in the Spanish towns have similarities, they are all uniquely different. See the handsome Church of San Patricio, Plaza Mayor, and Corredera Street, which features a series of baroque houses. Lorca is a friendly and hospitable town that offers recreation, shopping, and unique gastronomy.
You will return to Cartagena to see the Panoramic Elevator and the Civil War Air Raid Shelter Museum, which is fascinating.
We will make sure you also visit Torres Park, with its Castle of la Concepcion, the oldest in the city (XIV century). Here, you'll also find the Plaza de Toros (Bullring), under whose arena the remains of the legendary Roman Amphitheater can be found.
Before returning to the cruise ship pier, you'll enjoy some free time in the shopping area for souvenirs of the city.
