Overview

When visiting Gibraltar the Rock Tour is a must. Your air-conditioned mini-buses and Venture Ashore representative meets you at the port, ready to begin your tour. Settle in as your drive takes you along Winston Churchill Avenue, to the Spanish border, from here proceed to the East Side of the Rock, through the Dudley Ward Tunnel to Europa Point the most southerly point of Gibraltar.

From this vantage point, on a clear day, the North coast of Africa can be seen. Continue on to the Upper Rock Nature Reserve to visit the spectacular St Michael’s Cave. The cave is full of fine examples of stalactites and stalagmites that have been sculptured through the centuries.

St Michael’s Cave has 75 steps at the exit; however, those guests with walking difficulties may exit the caves via the entrance. Then its onwards to visit Gibraltar’s most respected residents the ‘Barbary Apes’ – these cheeky and sometimes naughty monkeys roam freely over the rocks and are not averse to helping themselves to handbags, cameras, and food! It is said that Gibraltar will remain British as long as the apes remain on the Rock.

Continue your tour and pass the Moorish Castle on route back through the Old Town to Main Street. Here, you have the choice to leave the tour in Main Street for shopping, perhaps a light refreshment or you may prefer to return on the mini-coach to your ship. Just let your driver know on the day; whatever you choose, you will return to your ship with wonderful Gibraltar memories!

Local currency is the British Pound (Sterling), the Euro is accepted and will be converted according to each shop's exchange rate they use.
The stay with the Barbary Apes is around 15 minutes.
The entrance is included within the tour price and we get approximately 20 minutes.
We stay in the Nature Reserve in total for 1 hour.
There is an option to visit the World War II Tunnels, there is a supplement which is payable locally; around £10 (GBP) - subject to change.
The vehicle size ranges from 17 seats to a maximum of 22 seats per vehicle (all air-conditioned)
You can be dropped off at the end of the tour in Main Street for shopping, however, it would be your responsibility to make your own way back to the cruise ship (taxi costs around £7-£10).
Dress for the weather and wear comfortable shoes.
Bring your sunglasses, sunscreen, sunhat, water bottle, camera and a printout of your voucher.
