Our first stop is a family-run olive oil production facility, where the air is sharp and grassy with freshly crushed olives.
Here, olives are processed on site to preserve purity and flavor.
Dimitri, whose family has produced olive oil for six generations, explains why speed is everything and how modern techniques, once met with hesitation, proved their worth through blind tastings.

You’ll be introduced to the art of professional olive oil tasting, an experience closer to wine evaluation than cooking.
Guided through the proper method, warming the oil, inhaling deeply, sipping, slurping, and savoring, you’ll discover the natural progression of flavors: fruitiness, balanced bitterness, and a peppery finish.
Different microclimates create remarkably different oils, proving that terroir matters just as much for olives as it does for wine.

After this sensory immersion, we step back in time at Ancient Epidaurus, one of Greece’s most important archaeological sites.
Carved into limestone around 340 BCE, the legendary theater blends perfectly into the hillside.
From center stage, even the faint ping of a coin carries effortlessly to all 14,000 seats, a marvel of ancient mathematics and design.
As our guide Costas explains, no megaphones or technology were needed; acoustic equality was built into the stone itself.

The return drive to Nafplio follows the deep blues of the Argolic Gulf.
As afternoon light turns the land golden, the coastal road offers breathtaking views of the Peloponnese, echoing the color and richness of the olive oil we tasted earlier. Coincidence? We doubt it.
