Overview

Follow a scenic seaside route along the Argolic Gulf as we journey 12 km southwest to Myloi, entering a landscape where myth, archaeology, and living tradition intertwine.

Our first stop is ancient Lerna, the legendary home of the fearsome Hydra, slain by Hercules during his second labor.
Archaeological excavations (1952–1958) revealed a continuous settlement from the Neolithic through Mycenaean times, nestled among lush orange groves.
Highlights include the renowned “House of the Tiles (Keramos)”, one of the most important prehistoric structures in Greece.

We continue to the mysterious Pyramid of Hellinikon (Kechri), located on a hill near the village of Elliniko.
Considered the best preserved of the 26 known Greek pyramids, its purpose and dating remain subjects of scholarly debate, adding an air of intrigue to the site.

Nearby lies the charming village of Kefalari, which has retained its authentic character with stone houses, narrow lanes, and a tranquil pace of life.
At the base of Mount Haon, the Church of Zoodochos Pigi, built inside a cave, draws pilgrims with its healing spring water.
Below the chapel, a serene pond shaded by plane trees offers a peaceful setting to relax.

The journey concludes in Argos, one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in Europe.
Founded around 2000 BCE by Inachos, son of Oceanus, Argos is deeply connected to the myths of Hercules and Perseus.
Here, antiquity blends seamlessly with modern life.
Highlights include the impressive ancient theater on Larissa Hill, the Polykleitos monument, and other enduring reminders of the city’s cultural and architectural legacy.

A selection of seaside tavernas and cafés along the way provides the perfect opportunity for a leisurely meal or coffee break, rounding off a day rich in history, myth, and natural beauty.
