Overview

You will be met at the port of Naples ready to commence your tour.

You will leave from the port of Naples, ready to travel to your first stop of Herculaneum or Pompeii Site (whatever site you have chosen) and see aspects of roman civilization of 2000 years ago. On a fateful summers day in 79 A.D., Mt. Vesuvius erupted, spewing volcanic ash over the prosperous city's of Pompeii and Herculaneum. Unaware of the imminent danger, most people continued with their daily lives and as a result the entire town and around 20,000 of its inhabitants were buried under tons of ash and pumice.

Almost 2,000 years later, you will have the opportunity to explore the site of this famous disaster and see the houses, streets and public buildings miraculously preserved by the volcanic ash. You will be taken to fascinating places such as the Forum, Thermal Baths, Lupanare brothel and Vettis House with its beautiful frescoes.

Your next stop is Positano, the most picturesque and photogenic town on the on the Amalfi coast. Here, you will have some free time for lunch (at your own cost) pick up some souvenirs or just soak up the wonderful atmosphere and views.

Finally, your tour will head to Sorrento, this area is particularly famous for lemons and Limoncello a very tasty Lemon Liqueur before heading back to the port of Naples.

This tour will take you on an amazing journey experiencing the picturesque Amalfi coast, visiting possibly the most famous towns in the area Sorrento and Positano, and also learning about the history of the most iconic volcano eruption when visiting Pompeii or Herculaneum (depending on which is chosen). At the end of your memorable tour, your transportation will drop you off at your cruise port.

Your choice of Pompeii or Herculaneum site to visit, has to be made while making your reservation. This is arranged in advance, not on the day of your tour. If you are arriving on a Wednesday, Herculaneum will be closed.

Both sites cannot be visited on the day.
Herculaneum will be closed on Wednesdays.

Special Instructions

Your preferred choice of Pompeii or Herculaneum site to visit, has to be made while making your reservation (or no later than 7 days prior to your tour).
Bring your sunglasses, sunscreen, sunhat and water bottle.
Wear comfortable walking shoes.
To enter religious sites women should cover their shoulders and both men and women should not wear shorts.
