Overview
Upon arrival in Pompeii, your private, local, licensed guide will take you on a fascinating two-hour tour through this amazing place. Once a thriving empire, the city of Pompeii had about 20,000 inhabitants in 79 AD, when it was completely covered in 30 feet of volcanic ash by the deadly eruption of Mount Vesuvius. Listen to your guide as he tells you the history of the city as you take in the baths, villas, theaters, and wrestling grounds.
We will the head off to Sorrento where we will have approximately 1 hour free time to explore before we go meet up with our guide for lunch. This tour includes a 2 course lunch in a restaurant in Sorrento (dietary requirements are required on booking). Please note: In Sorrento from the port to Sorrento downtown there is a walk of 8 minutes up the hill (moderate walking).
After lunch we take a leisurely walk to the port of Sorrento to board the mid-day hydrofoil to Capri island. When you disembark the hydrofoil, your time on this magical island will begin.
On arrival on to the island we will take a funicolare to Capri downtown. In Capri Town we will take a 60 minute guided tour of Capri Town and view the main landmark of Capri 'The Faraglini@ from Augustus Gardens. After the guided tour of downtown Capri, we will then take the funicolare back in preparation to board the hydrofoil back to the port of Naples.
