Overview

Your journey begins with a warm welcome from your tour representative at the cruise port, followed by a comfortable ride in private transportation through the stunning landscapes of Sao Miguel Island.

Your first stop is the Caloura viewpoint, offering panoramic views over the island’s lush south coast. Continue through the charming town of Vila Franca do Campo on your way to Furnas, a village nestled inside a volcanic crater.

As you descend into the crater, take in views of the serene Furnas Lake. Stop at the lake’s famous “Caldeiras”, where bubbling hot springs are used to cook the island’s traditional Cozido, a hearty meal slow-cooked underground using geothermal heat.

Next, visit the main hot springs in Furnas village, known as “Caldeiras”, a vibrant area full of steamy fumaroles and thermal waters, an unforgettable natural wonder.

Continue to Pico do Ferro viewpoint, where breathtaking views of the entire Furnas crater await you, lake, village, and volcanic terrain all in one frame.

Your tour then takes you to Gorreana Tea Plantation, the only tea plantation in Europe. Stroll through the scenic tea fields, tour the factory, and enjoy a complimentary tasting of locally produced green and black teas.

Before heading back to the port, make a final stop at the stunning Santa Iria viewpoint, overlooking the dramatic north coast, a perfect photo opportunity to conclude your adventure.
