Overview

You will be met at the port by a Venture Ashore representative who will then guide to your transportation.

Your half-day tour will commence as you leave the pier behind and start the drive towards the West direction of the island to see the most West point of the island called Ponta do Escalvaldo and see Mosteiros village from the top.

Then drive through Sete Cidades village to see one of the most Azorean villages of Sao Miguel Island. You will enjoy a stop at the center of the village. This a comfort stop, there are restroom and coffee facilities and time to see the beautiful Sete Cidades Church.

When everyone is ready, back onto your transportation and travel to the bridge that divides the two lakes. From there, it's a drive up the Crater from the other side, stop first at Sao Tiago Lake viewpoint, and then stop at Cerrado das Freiras (view from a different perspective of the Twin Lakes). Both views are spectacular and you will enjoy taking some unforgettable photos here!

Travel onwards until you arrive at the Vista do Rei viewpoint to see Sete Cidades Crater Lake (blue and green lake). The views will simply take your breath away!

From here, you will go to Pico do Carvão, take in the views - both the South and the North coast at the same time (the most flat and thinner area of the island). Your final stop takes you to a Pineapple Plantation, to see how Azoreans grow one of the best Pineapples, in the world. A perfect way to end your tour and from here you travel back to your cruise ship.

On occasion, Sao Miguel island weather may affect this itinerary and alternate sites may be visited if necessary.
