Overview

During your comfortable journey you will see the modern and bustling city centre of Tallinn, home to many great shops, restaurants, museums and entertainment venues.

One of the best preserved Hanseatic League town centers in the world. A short distance away is the business centre with the tall modern buildings, fancy hotels and trendy bars and nightlife. You can also shop till you drop here in the large shopping centers!

Your walking tour of the Upper Town will begin when you exit the vehicle ready to ascend Toompea, the limestone hill at heart of the city of Tallinn. Once you have reached the top be rewarded with the impressive skyline of one of the best preserved medieval towns in Europe, also listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Make sure you have your camera ready to snap shots of the pink Parliament House of Estonia, Tall Hermann Tower and the Russian Orthodox Church which has stood since 1900.

Move on with your sightseeing to the Lutheran Dome Church otherwise known as St Marys Cathedral, dating back to the 13th century. This impressive building was a burial ground of the rich and titled. The whitewashed walls are decorated with the elaborate coats-of-arms of Estonias most noble families. The capital of Estonia is the perfect place for the House of the Estonian Knighthood. Be ready to take lots of pictures here at the viewing platform!

Move on to Eastern Tallinn via Kadriorg Park. The most outstanding palatial and urban park in Estonia. The best place in town for strolling and pondering amongst the ample acreage, patches of green, flowing fountains and pretty little flower beds. You will soon see why Peter the Great founded this beautiful park in honor of his wife Catherine. Continue on to visit Song Festival Grounds. This large event venue holds a very special place in Estonians hearts as the birthplace of the Singing Revolution. Immerse yourself in the view of the sea and the Old Town of Tallinn, a fabulous place for a photo opportunity. Don't forget to purchase a souvenir while you're here!

Leaving Tallinns Song Festival Grounds you will have a comfortable journey to Lasnamäe.

Construction began in the 1970s during the Soviet period. Lasnamäe can be divided into two distinct areas: the southern part is mainly industrial and the northern part is residential with vast, high panel never ending apartments.

From Lasnamäe continue on to the Kose, Pirita district where you will see for yourself the very different type of architecture, full of private houses from the 50s and 60s with their neat little gardens. Just across the river lies the remarkable ruins of St Birgitta Convent, dating back to the 15th century. Founded in 1407 it was the largest convent for both monks and nuns in Old Livonia. Unfortunately this was destroyed by Ivan the Terribles forces in 1577. Take time to explore inside these vast ruins.

Be taken to a completely different world when you arrive at the coast of Viimsi Peninsula. It first saw inhabitants over 1000 years ago who were successful merchants and daring seafarers. Buildings have since developed along the skyline but the sea still defines the character of Viimsi. Once the centre of a prominent fish farm, you can still see the old farm buildings alongside the new-build houses.

A visit to the Viimsi Open-Air Museum is included so you can go and see the authentic and historical coastal village for yourself.

Before returning to your vehicle for your journey back to the ship enjoy the picturesque seashore.
